Drier skies, fall-like temps remain around Portland Thursday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Fall-like weather remains around the Portland, Vancouver area as skies slowly start to dry Thursday.

A few scattered morning rain showers will slow and dry by the afternoon Thursday around western Oregon and southwest Washington. The lingering showers will help keep temperatures below average with highs in the low to mid 70s. Additional rain accumulation will be minimal but could be near a couple of one-hundredths of an inch in some isolated areas.

The cooler-than-average temperature trend will remain around the Pacific Northwest through the end of the week. More sunshine and slightly warmer conditions will push highs into the mid-70s Friday. Not all locations will see rain this weekend, but Saturday may bring the next best chance of a few light showers into Portland.

KOIN 6 Meteorologist Josh Cozart shares Portland's cooler and wetter weather pattern for the next week

The greatest chance to see measurable rainfall comes early next week. That's where temperatures will struggle to make it into the 70s. This cooler and wetter weather pattern likely takes much of the Pacific Northwest into the next six to 10 days.
