Cyprus tech gathering to feature talks on wireless landscape, programming
The fourth iteration of Tech Talks, inspired by a similar initiative by Google, is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the premises of Deloitte Cyprus in Nicosia.
The event, running from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, will bring together members of Cyprus’ technical community for an evening of presentations and networking.
According to a press release, these events aim to share a wide range of technical knowledge, from basic concepts to advanced discussions.
The agenda includes two main presentations. The first, titled “Navigating the Wireless Threat Landscape: Myths and Realities,” will be delivered by Michalis Kyriacou, co-founder and CEO of Intellectra Technologies.
The event’s organisers also explained that “this talk will debunk common myths about wireless security, with a focus on cellular IoT networks and 5G”.
It will also “explore the latest trends and emerging threats, and provide practical advice for building a resilient wireless infrastructure”.
The second presentation, “Asynchronous Programming in Python,” will be given by Georgios Frangoulis, a software developer and team leader.
Frangoulis will cover topics such as a specific syntactic feature used in computer programming languages, concurrency versus parallelism, and real-world applications using FastAPI and Tornado frameworks, along with practical examples.
The event is organised by Pale Blue, QBeat Technologies, Deloitte Cyprus, and the Google Developer Group Cyprus.
