India's palm oil imports plunge as buyers shift to soyoil
India's palm oil imports in August dropped by over a quarter from July due to sufficient domestic stocks and negative margins, according to the Solvent Extractors' Association of India. This decline could increase palm oil stocks in Indonesia and Malaysia. While palm oil imports fell, soyoil imports rose by 16%, and sunflower oil imports decreased by 22.5%. Total edible oil imports dropped by 17% to 1.53 million tons.
