The Voyager Takes New Shape as Ebel Releases 1911 Globe

Originally introduced as the Voyager in 1989, Ebel’s 1911 Globe retains the spirit of the original timepiece while incorporating a contemporary design. The new model faithfully restores the aesthetic of the original, featuring the same world map motif on its dial as the predecessor, but now distinguishing itself with mirrored finished continents with either rhodium or yellow gold plating. Ebel offers two variants, the Ebel 1911 Globe Black in stainless steel with a black dial and the Ebel 1911 Globe Green with a green dial and yellow-gold accents on the bracelet, and yellow-gold plated screws as well a a yellow gold plated crown

The two stainless steel watches measure 42mm wide and boast worldtimer functionality, with their ceramic bezels allowing the user to track the local time in 24 locations representing the world’s time zones, including a “UTC” designation for global standard time and the indication of day-and-night hours. A date display at 3 o’clock completes the contemporary GMT functionality. Both versions feature luminescent hour and minute hands for night-time readability.

Water-resistant to 100 meters, the 1911 Globe watches are powered by a self-winding Swiss caliber, which comes to life through the sapphire case back. The watches are secured to the wrist via a five-link bracelet.
