Power outages in Acadiana from Hurricane Francine

UPDATE, 6 p.m.: St. Mary Parish had 11,961 outages, Vermilion Parish had 2,404, Iberia Parish had 1,918; Outside Acadiana, Terrebonne had 19,088, Lafourche had 20,578, Assumption 4,144. Statewide, 83,140 customers were without power.

ORIGINAL STORY: ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Acadiana is seeing power outages as Hurricane Francine hits the Louisiana coast.

The Louisiana Power Outage Map is showing over 64,000 customers without power statewide as of 5:30 p.m.

St. Mary Parish was hit hard in the late afternoon, with 10,297 of its 19,014 customers without power at 5:30.

There were 3.435 out of the 19,000 customers in St. Mary Parish as of 1:45 p.m. As of 2:45 p.m., crews in St. Mary Parish had reduced the number of outages to 1,425, but the number rose to 2,400 just before the storm made landfall Wednesday afternoon.

At 3 p.m. Iberia Parish reported 1,417 of its 35,834 customers were without power, and reported 2,390 at 5:30 p.m.

Terrebonne Parish, where the storm officially made landfall, had 17,745 of its 27,317 customers without power at 5:30. Nearby Lafourche Parish reported 15,518 outages.
