Hibernian FC is delighted to link up with Broadstone who will provide the Club’s players and staff with mental health support.

Officially launched today, the Club will work closely with Broadstone to ensure that all of its employees have the support they need, alongside promoting positive mental health within the Club and beyond.

Mental health has been a pertinent issue in football and modern-day society, and Hibernian FC is extremely committed in providing all its staff the best possible support in this area.

In keeping with this, Broadstone are committed to providing all of the Club’s employees – playing staff and office staff – a safe, confidential space to discuss any issues or difficulties that they face in their lives.

Alongside this, Hibs will work together with their new mental health partner to enhance and improve the way that football and society approaches mental health, seeking to raise awareness and understanding amongst players, staff and fans alike.

Hibernian FC would also like to thank Back Onside for the support they have provided the Club over the last six years.

Hibernian FC’s Head of People & Culture, Sarah Shewan: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Broadstone on what is such an important and pertinent issue in modern society.

“Having worked with Broadstone in the past, I know the support they will provide all staff at Hibernian FC will be second-to-none. Everyone will go through some stage of mental health in their life, which is why it’s so important to have experts on hand and available that can help. It’s absolutely vital that all our staff members – both at HTC and Easter Road – feel comfortable and have a safe space to talk if they need to.

“We are extremely passionate about raising awareness of mental health in sport and society, and our partnership with Broadstone will enable us to continue doing that.”

Head Coach David Gray added: “Mental health awareness is important in every walk of life. It’s great that the players and staff at Hibernian FC have the resource to speak to someone if they need any kind of help.

“From playing and coaching in the game, it’s fair to say the stigma around mental health in football is changing, but there’s more work to be done, and this partnership is another step in the right direction.”
