'He's rejected your network': Senator taunts Trump on Fox News for 'melting down on stage'

0

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on Wednesday went onto former President Donald Trump's favorite cable news morning show to taunt him for his widely panned performance in his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

In being asked to assess how the debate went, Murphy immediately praised Harris's performance before pivoting to taking an axe to Trump's performance.

"[Voters] see one candidate, Kamala Harris, who was composed, who looks presidential, and they see the other candidate, Donald Trump, melting down on stage, offering these wild lies, still telling the country that he won the 2020 election, making up things about immigrants eating pets," he said. "That's why 90 percent of people thought Kamala Harris won the debate."

Murphy then dared Trump to get back on stage with Harris for another debate if he really thinks he did as well as he claims.

"He knows he lost," Murphy said. "He knows last night was a disaster."

He then pointed out that Trump is even refusing to have a debate on Fox News unless it is moderated by a MAGA ally such as Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, or Jesse Watters.

"He's rejected your network's offer to debate!" Murphy taunted. "That's the friendliest territory for Trump and he won't even debate because he knows that when he and Kamala Harris are on stage together, he just doesn't look like a leader and she does."

"Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy then chimed in to say Trump did not commit "one way or the other" to a debate on Fox.
