Rangers fans may have something more to watch for as the season winds down.
Hello everyone! Let’s get to the latest from around baseball.
In Mariners news...

- Marc Normandin at Baseball Prospectus takes a dive into the seemingly financially-driven decision by the M’s to keep Jerry Dipoto on board. ($)
- One of the more promising young arms in the M’s system faces another unfortunate setback.
More tough news for Teddy McGraw, who the Mariners drafted in the third round in 2023 and has been recovering from TJ. The doctor found an issue with his flexor tendon after he experienced tightness in his last start, and they're evaluating further options.

Around the league...
- It seems too little too late given where they are in the standings, but the Rangers are expecting both Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer to return to the squad this week.
- The Oakland A’s have not committed to whether the team would hold playoff games in Sacramento should they make the playoffs while playing their home games there.
- Jay Jaffe at Fangraphs wonders how the Astros would utilize Justin Verlander in the postseason given his recent struggles.
- Meanwhile, Nick Sarnelli at Pinstripe Alley digs into how Nestor Cortés may perform as a bullpen option for the Yankees this fall.
- Well, I suppose that’s one way to use Generative AI.
