WWE star Sami Zayn gets emotional after Bret Hart’s appearance on RAW

New Delhi: We all know that Bret Hart is a big name in the wrestling world. Being the WWE Hall Of Famer, he had his incredible career which includes being the recipient of the WWE Hall of Fame and winning multiple WWE Championships. It was very difficult for a wrestler to share a ring with him as it would always be a thrilling event. That’s exactly what happened to the Canadian wrestler Sami Zayn, in the last episode of WWE Raw. Zayn found himself in the middle of a heated argument between Hart and Gunther.

It is worth mentioning that, Sami Zayn has always been idolizing Hart, since childhood. But in Monday Night Raw, Zayn became part of the feud between Hart and Gunther and that part became a thrilling and emotional moment for him.

On the September 9 episode of WWE Raw, held in Calgary, Alberta Canada, the crowd was excited and electrified to see Bret Hart making a dramatic return to the show and back in action against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. The latter did not hold back his feelings and even threw in a dig about Hart to stir things up. The heated encounter prompted Sami Zayn to step in and confront.

“You caught me at a really strange time because I’m feeling emotional, to be honest. I’m wearing this jersey, not because I’m a Flames fan, everyone knows I’m a Canadian guy, but to honour Johnny Gaudreau, who tragically passed away. I don’t know, it just makes you think about the time you have here and what you do with it, and to be able to share the ring with [Bret Hart], he was my hero growing up. To share the ring with him in Calgary, the significance is not lost on me. So I’m in a really strange kind of head space,” said Sami Zayn.

“But listening to him talk also kind of lit a fire under me to hear him talk about what it meant to be a champion, and a Canadian champion. Listening to him, I realized, man, we haven’t had that in a long time, and I want it to be me. I want it to be me,” he added.

Zayn states that his goal is to honour Hart’s legacy and follow the path Hart laid out for performers like him, “I want to honour his legacy. I want to honour the template that he laid out for guys like me. So Gunther’s got something that, as far as I’m concerned, it’s on borrowed time because I’m coming. I’m concerned, it’s on borrowed time because I’m, coming. I’m coming for the World Heavyweight Championship.”
