Four hidden iPhone 16 features Apple kept secret – including faster Wi-Fi & camera trick users have been crying out for
IPHONE fans are uncovering some of the hidden new features coming to the handset that Apple didn’t talk about this week.
The tech giant may have gone big on its AI Apple Intelligence capabilities but there are loads of smaller yet significant upgrades on the way too.

Everyone cares about fast, reliable Wi-Fi – and fortunately there’s a new standard in town.
Techies call it Wi-Fi 7, which allows more data to be sent in less time – it’s five times faster than the current generation of Wi-Fi (known as Wi-Fi 6E).
A growing number of devices are taking on Wi-Fi 7.
To benefit, your router and the gadget receiving Wi-Fi need to both support Wi-Fi 7.
Last year, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were afforded support for the latest Wi-Fi tech.
But Apple‘s tech spec pages reveal that all four of the new iPhone 16 devices will support Wi-Fi 7, not just the two most expensive handsets.
Pause video recordings
Sometimes it’s the small things that cause the most excitement.
And this one has been around on Android rivals for years.
Apple fans spotted that the new version of iOS 18 will allow iPhone users to pause video recordings in the middle of shooting.
This means you will be able to record several shots in a single video instead of starting and stopping a new video each time.
It’s not clear whether this will be exclusive to iPhone 16 or coming to all devices running iOS 18 once the free update is made available.
Tougher display
For anyone prone to a devastating drop and smash, Apple has upgraded the display on iPhone 16.
It will come with a new version of the Ceramic Shield, which is a glass and ceramic hybrid material.
Apple says this is 50 per cent “tougher” than the first-generation ceramic shield, as well as two times tougher than “glass found in any other smartphone”.
Wireless charging speed boost
If you’re into using a MagSafe wireless charger on your iPhone, Apple has boosted the speed.
iPhone 16 models can charge at up to 25W – 10W faster than standard Qi2 wireless charging standard.
Apple released a new MagSafe Charger that supports the faster speed, so you’ll have to buy a new one to benefit.
