Insurance company ordered to pay Rs 80 lakh to wife of Covid-19 victim
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, has ordered an insurance company to pay Rs 80 lakh to R Umarani after her husband Devaraju's death due to Covid-19. The insurance company initially denied the claim, citing undisclosed pre-existing conditions. The commission ruled this as a deficiency in service and mandated the payment within four weeks.
