Kamala’s Face Said It All
On Tuesday, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris met for the first time for what will probably be their only debate. It certainly went better than the last presidential debate, given the fact that Harris is full of vim and vigor. Trump, of course, said a bunch of lies and got really worked up when he was called out on them. Thanks to the split-screen format of the debate, we got to see Harris’s best active listening faces while Trump gave some of his most outlandish answers.
She started out going in for the handshake while he tried to avoid her. This is the look you give someone when you have your opening locked and loaded. She later said, “Let’s talk about what Donald Trump left us. Donald Trump left us the worst unemployment since the Great Depression. Donald Trump left us the worst public-health epidemic in a century. Donald Trump left us the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”
I think this was when Trump said that Harris was so pro-choice that she wants it to be legal to “execute” a baby after it’s born. Moderator Linsey Davis was quick to inform him that there is nowhere in the country where it’s legal to kill a baby. Meanwhile, Harris had her best moment of the night when she spoke directly to the American people, reminding them that they do not have to “abandon their faith or their deeply held beliefs” to oppose the government making choices about their bodies.
How can you not make this face when Trump parrots the absurd lie that there are immigrants in Ohio who are eating dogs and cats?

“I think this is so rich coming from someone who has been prosecuted for national security crimes, economic crimes, election interference, has been found liable for sexual assault. And his next big court appearance is in November at his own criminal sentencing,” Harris said when Trump claimed that crime is on the up under the Biden administration. This face screams, “But you’re the criminal.”
