'She pitched a shut out': Never-Trump Republicans think Harris 'lit him up' in debate
Republicans who've sworn off former President Donald Trump think he was on the receiving end of a "beatdown" on the debate stage Tuesday night against Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Harris lit him up and melted his orange face paint like the Nazis in Indiana Jones," the Lincoln Project, which bills itself as a leading pro-democracy organization, said in a statement following the debate. "He's f-----."
Conservative political commentator George Conway wrote on X: "This is the most brutal beatdown I’ve ever seen in a presidential debate."

"Trump lost the debate and whining about the moderators doesn’t change it," wrote Erick Erickson. "He didn’t lose because of their behavior. He lost because of his own performance while his lips were moving, not theirs."
"Kamala Harris: Winner by knock out," quipped Mike Madrid of the Lincoln Project.
"She pitched a shut out," former Fox News host Chris Wallace said, heaping praise on Harris. He added that Trump "looked old tonight."
"My take: Harris crushed Trump, looking relaxed and focused while baiting him and setting him off into unhinged rants," wrote Jon Ralson of the Nevada Independent.
"After this debate, the Harris campaign will have little reason to do another one," wrote conservative commentator Frank Luntz.
