Campaign against North Vancouver chlorine plant secretly funded by competing company

Leaders in North Vancouver are sounding the alarm over a mysterious campaign targeting Chemtrade, a local chemical plant which has been making chlorine on the North Shore for more than 60 years. With the company trying to renew its lease, district councillors have received hundreds of emails from accounts claiming to be North Vancouver residents who are concerned about a potential chlorine spill. But an investigation by CBC News and the Investigative Journalism Foundation has traced the campaign to a Toronto-based lobby firm. As Jon Hernandez reports, the effort was funded by one of Chemtrade's direct competitors.
