PST ART, previously known as “Pacific Standard Time,” will begin in Los Angeles on September 15th. The largest art event in the United States will take place in galleries and public spaces throughout the city and Southern California with events and shows through February.
This year’s theme, “Art & Science Collide,” will kick off with a daytime fireworks event by artist Cai Guo-Qiang at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

During the run of PST ART more than 70 thematically linked exhibitions and programs, presented by the Getty, will be on display from Santa Barbara to Orange County to San Diego. The Getty will present “Long Middle Ages,” which examines how the science of light impacted art and religion, and early abstract photography and holography using light as the main source of inspiration.
On November 16th and 17th the Los Angeles Philharmonic in partnership with the Los Angeles Master Chorale will present “Noon to Midnight.” Live performances and sound-based installations will be presented at the Disney Concert Hall with groundbreaking new music by artists from Los Angeles and around the world.
