Top 5 youngest players to score a century in IPL
1. Manish Pandey, 2009 – 19 years, 253 days
The Indian right-handed batter not only holds the record for the youngest player to score an IPL hundred but is also the first-ever Indian player to score a century in the tournament. He did so while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against the Deccan Chargers. Pandey remained unbeaten on 114 as RCB posted a total of 170/4 after 20 overs.
2. Rishabh Pant, 2018 – 20 years, 218 days
The Indian wicket-keeper batter absolutely brutalized the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowing attack with his incredible power-hitting. Pant would remain unbeaten on 128 and would carry the Delhi Daredevils to a solid total of 187/5 after 20 overs. This fabulous knock included 15 boundaries and 7 sixes.
3. Devdutt Padikkal, 2021 – 20 years, 289 days
After electing to field first, the RCB bowlers did a decent job and restricted the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to 177/9 after 20 overs. In reply, the opening pair of Padikkal and Virat Kohli decimated the RR bowling attack and formed a superb stand. Padikkal scored an amazing ton and remained unbeaten on 101 while Kohli remained unbeaten on 72 as RCB achieved the target without losing any wicket.
4. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 2023 – 21 years, 123 days
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Jaiswal would give RR a fantastic start by smashing the Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling attack in every corner of the stadium. At a blistering pace, the 21-year-old completed a remarkable century to carry his side to a humongous total of 212/7. His knock of 124 included 16 boundaries and 8 massive sixes.
5. Sanju Samson, 2017 – 22 years, 151 days
After being asked to bat first by the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), the Delhi Daredevils would go on to smash a huge total. This mainly happened due to Samson’s fantastic century which saw him destroy RPS’ bowling attack. Samson would lose his wicket after scoring 102 runs. This magnificent knock included 8 boundaries and 5 sixes.
