APD seeking public help finding 2 suspects connected to aggravated assault at east Austin H-E-B

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's help to find two suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated assault that happened in August at an east Austin H-E-B, the agency said in a news release Tuesday.

On Aug. 17, officers responded to the H-E-B, located at 1801 E. 51st St., around 9:50 p.m. for the assault.

The two suspects were in a white vehicle, and they "fired multiple gunshots at victims as they walked out of H-E-B, into the parking lot," the release said. The suspects then left the area and were last seen leaving the H-E-B onto East 51st Street, according to police.

The first suspect is the driver of the vehicle and was described by APD as a Hispanic man with a slim build and black curly hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a black Nike logo seen "on the left chest area," dark-colored pants, white shoes and multiple chains around the neck, the release said.

The second suspect is the suspected shooter and was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, according to police. That suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a slim build and black curly hair. He was last seen wearing a red sleeveless shirt, dark-colored pants and Nike shoes, the release said.

The suspect vehicle is described by police as a white two-door sedan, or possibly a Honda Civic with tinted windows, a sunroof and no front license plate.

Police are looking for vehicle information or the identity of both suspects, the release said.

Tipsters can submit anonymous tips online on the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program website or call 512-472-8477. Police said a reward up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest, the release.
