Albany Police investigating reported sexual assault
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department announced it is investigating a reported sexual assault. It reportedly happened on Mercer Street near South Lake Avenue in Albany.
Officers say a man knocked on the door of a woman's apartment on Monday at around 10:10 p.m. saying he was a member of the Albany Police Department before the woman unlocked the door and the man forced his way into her apartment. Police reported that the man displayed a knife and sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing.
The victim sustained a cut to the right side of her face. The suspect was described as a five-foot-eight white man dressed in all black.
