PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Grammy winner Donald Glover, who performs under the name Childish Gambino, has postponed the remaining shows of his tour — including a Portland stop.

The concert featuring Willow Smith as an opening act was scheduled for the Moda Center on Tuesday, Sept. 24, but the headliner told fans it had been delayed via social media on Monday.

“Unfortunately I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” Glover wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Hold onto your tickets. ALL tickets will be honored for the upcoming dates in North America when they are rescheduled. Thanks for the privacy. Thanks for the support. Thanks for the love.”

The day before he revealed his remaining shows were postponed, he had already delayed his concert in Houston’s Toyota Center “due to illness.”

Glover first announced The New World Tour in May, with North American dates set from mid-August to early October. He had also scheduled shows across Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia through February 2025.

The tour is in support of his fifth studio album “Bando Stone & the New World,” which was released in July. Both the tour and the album were his final acts under the moniker “Childish Gambino.”

The multi-hyphenate artist has said he wants to focus more on his work in the film and television industry. He previously acted in NBC sitcom “Community,” his own comedy-drama “Atlanta” and Amazon Prime series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

Glover has yet to announce the new date for his Portland show. The Moda Center still plans to host Mitski, Cigarettes After Sex and more this month.
