Edmond leaders break ground on renovations for 45-year-old sports complex

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — City of Edmond leaders along with members of the A.C. Caplinger family broke ground on a $17.5 million renovation project for the A.C. Caplinger Sports Complex on Tuesday morning.
The 45-year-old sports complex located at Hafer Park will receive a fresh makeover that will replace the infrastructure, add new sports lighting, amenities which includes two restrooms and synthetic turf infields, and will rearrange the layouts of the fields.
The renovation project on the sports complex will also feature 10 ball fields, 451 parking spaces, covered bleachers and dugouts, a playground, concessions, picnic shelters, and umpire facilities.
The renovations are expected to be complete by Fall 2025.
