Limassol teen arrested for child pornography

An 18-year-old was arrested on Tuesday for the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Police began investigating the case after a message from Europol that an internet user had uploaded 17 photos depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Investigations led to the 18-year-old Limassol resident, who was arrested and remanded in custody.

During his arrest, police found a mobile phone, which was confiscated pending scientific examination.

The police cybercrime combatting department is investigating the case.
