QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Warren County Office of Emergency Services is hosting a free emergency preparedness training on Saturday, Oct. 19. The training will provide residents with the information and supplies needed to respond to floods, fires and severe storms from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The New York Citizen Preparedness Training Program will provide attendees with the tools and resources to respond accordingly and recover quickly if a natural disaster or emergency occurs. The program will be at the Warren County Sheriff's Office, 1400 Route 9, in Queensbury.

State emergency management workers will conduct the course. For those attending, a free emergency preparedness backpack kit will be given out.

"This program will help residents develop a complete family emergency plan, going over what emergency supplies should be acquired prior to a disaster and covering all contingencies to make sure you and your family are ready to respond to emergencies when they occur," Ann Marie Mason, Warren County director of emergency services, said.

The event is free to attend but space is limited and registration is required. To register, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WCSD101924.
