Fall-like feelings return to Portland area starting Tuesday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat continues to fade around Portland as clouds increase and the chance of rain ramps up later this week.
A mix of sun and clouds will start the day off Tuesday as temperatures begin to cool. Below average highs will put the Willamette Valley into the mid to upper 70s. Increasing clouds will help slow the warming trend Tuesday as Oregon's next storm approaches.
Rain showers aren't expected to return until late Tuesday night and overnight. An early season cold front will help cool temperatures into the mid to upper 60s Wednesday. Rain showers will start after sunset Tuesday and continue through the day Wednesday. The wet weather trend will become scattered through the middle of the week.
The wet weather trend is short-lived, but will impact the week's temperatures. Highs will continue to stay below average through the weekend and into next week.
A mix of sun and clouds will be found through the weekend as the rain potential decreases late in the week. Some weather models are keeping temperatures cooler through the end of next week.
