North London Derby on Sunday

With the international break now winding down, players will start returning to Hotspur Way over the next few days as the build-up to the bid derby game on Sunday gathers steam.

Ange Postecoglou’s men will want to prove a point to their home fans after the disappointing loss to Newcastle United, and they could potentially be facing an Arsenal side that is ravaged by injuries.

Football.London point out that as many as eight players could be missing for the Gunners after the developments during the international break.

Arsenal are walking wounded

Declan Rice has been ruled out of the clash after being sent off against Brighton while long-term absentees, Gabriel Jesus and Mikel Merino, are out of action.

Neither Takehiro Tomiyasu nor Kieran Tierney are expected to recover in time for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while Football.London say that there are also doubts regarding the availability of Jurrien Timber.

Martin Odegaard twisted his ankle last night in Nations League action for Norway and looks to be out of the NLD too.

Finally, summer signing Riccardo Calafiori could be denied the chance to play his first derby, having gone off injured during Italy’s win over France in the Nations League.

Spurs Web Opinion

Odegaard will almost certainly miss the game, having limped off for Norway but Timber will likely be available come Sunday.

The extent of Calafiori’s injury remains clear but there is no doubt that Arsenal will put a formidable team on the park and will start the game as favourites nonetheless.
