The 145th game of Cincinnati’s season begins tonight at 6:40 PM ET in Atlanta

The Cincinnati Reds escaped Queens with a victory over the New York Mets in their series finale on Sunday, though in dropping two of three at Citi Field they sit at just 69-75 on the season.
Next up? A quick trip to Atlanta to face the Braves in a makeup for the rainout of July 24th’s would-be affair.
Nick Martinez will toe the rubber for the Reds in what will more likely than not be one of his final trio of starts with the club. He’s got a player option for the 2025 on his current contract, but given both his flexibility in role and performance so far this season it’s almost a given that he’ll opt-out and re-enter free agency the week after the World Series. So, enjoy him while you can in this uniform, folks!
Sharing the mound with Nick this evening will be Atlanta starter Charlie Morton, who is having an uncharacteristically mediocre season in this, his age-40 season. Maybe that means Elly De La Cruz can smash a homer off him from the left-side of the plate in the Top of the 1st and get this party started early!
