John Mulaney Will Reunite With Richard Kind on Broadway
Last John Mulaney was asked about the possibility of future installments of his live Netflix talk show Everybody’s in L.A., he responded by saying he’d like to “figure out how to do more.” One positive sign this may indeed happen is that he’s remaining close with the show’s collaborator dearest to our hearts: Richard Kind. Beginning on December 11, Mulaney and Kind will co-star in a new Broadway production titled All In: Comedy About Love, written by humorist and former SNL writer Simon Rich. Joining them will be Girls5eva band member Renée Elise Goldsberry and newly less-employed drummer Fred Armisen. Actors will rotate during the show’s ten-week run at the Hudson Theatre, so audiences will only have a few chances to catch these four together.
Described by the New York Times as a series of “vignettes about relationships, marriage and heartbreak” adapted from Rich’s previously published works, All In: Comedy About Love will be directed by Alex Timbers, whom Mulaney worked with previously on his Netflix specials Baby J and Kid Gorgeous at Radio City. Timbers also directed the filmed version of Oh, Hello, which marked the last time Mulaney was on Broadway, performing as George St. Geegland alongside Nick Kroll’s Gil Faizon. Presumably, this production will feature less — or, at the very least, an appropriate amount of — tuna.
