Albany County Legislature talk airport plan
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Legislature spoke on the Albany County Airport Authority Capital Program. Ultimately, it was decided to refer the legislation back to the audit finance committee and said it will be fully discussed later in the week with airport personnel.
The program's goal is to require the authority to submit a capital projects plan to the county legislature every five years for legislative approval among other things. The goal is to provide safe and efficient transportation facilities at a reasonable cost to the people.
This comes after the Albany County Airport Authority Board fired Phil Calderone last week. The controversial move caused a major uproar in the community. The board is continuing to proceed with its national search for the airport authority board's next CEO.
