Andy Reid gives positive update on status of Hollywood Brown injury
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It seems Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Hollywood Brown could be back in the lineup soon.
Head coach Andy Reid gave a positive update Brown's status heading into Week 2 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.
"He's getting close, I know he's feeling better. We've just gotta kind of see where it goes from here," Reid said. "They've been doing these periodic tests on him and making sure that he's headed in the right direction and scans and all that. It looks like it's heading in the right direction, now we just have to see where it goes from here."
In typical Reid fashion, his response was somewhat ambiguous, not indicating whether Brown would give it a go on Sunday or not, but it is clear, his return could be imminent.
Brown has now been out for four weeks after suffering a sternoclavicular dislocation in his left shoulder against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Chiefs first preseason game on Aug. 10.
Tyreek Hill suffered the same injury with the Chiefs during the 2019 season and missed four weeks.
With Brown nearing his return, he will make an already dangerous offense that much scarier, leaving more weapons at Patrick Mahomes disposal.
The Chiefs will battle the Bengals at home on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.
