‘The big creator’ – National press lavish praise on Tottenham star once again
The Swedish press cannot get enough of Dejan Kulusevski, waxing lyrical about the winger after his display against Estonia on Sunday.
Kulusevski is thriving for Sweden this week
Sweden registered two wins in two during the international break and are now already placed quite strongly in the Nations League table, exuding authority and sending out a clear message with their latest performance as they brushed Estonia aside 3-0.
Kulusevski started as a number ten behind striker duo, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, and the 24-year-old delivered a captain’s performance in Stockholm, looking dangerous every time he got on the ball.
The Estonian backline struggled to deal with the Spurs star’s creativity, technical quality and running power, with the 24-year-old playing a key part in the build-up to the home side’s second goal before assisting the third goal.
More praise for Dejan Kulusevski
The Swedish press has now sung his praises, hailing Kulusevski as the main creative fulcrum of Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side on the back of his dominating performance against the Baltic side.
Svenskafans.com wrote about the former Juventus man: “Threatens, dribbles, passes and runs. Has taken over as the big creator now and against a team like Estonia he sometimes has a playhouse,”
Fotbollskanalen said about Kulusevski’s display: “Was very involved in the attacking game. Built up the attack before 2-0 and then a nice run into the penalty area and assist for 3-0. Good effort against weak opposition. Strong third.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Although this performance came against relatively weak opposition, it serves as further proof that Kulusevski is at his best centrally.
Unfortunately, most of his minutes for Spurs will likely come on the right this season.
