I transformed my short damaged hair into long healthy locks – avoid a common mistake when drying
ONE woman showed off her impressive hair transformation after growing out her locks.
She converted her short damaged hair into long healthy strands with a few simple changes.
In her viral video, TikTok user Taryn (@therealtarnanlamb) talked her followers through each of her tips.
“Just look at how fried and broken and dead it was,” she said as she discussed a before picture of her hair.
Her bleach blonde just reached her shoulders, looked broken and frayed.
In the after picture, Taryn’s natural sandy blonde tone was evident in her long wavy tresses.
She revealed that she never thought her hair could be revived but simple changes soon transformed it.
These steps included stopping bleaching and embracing her natural colour.
Taryn also reduced the amount of times she used heat on her hair and only washed it once a week.
She also opted for silk scrunchies over regular hair bobbles and she also invested in silk pillowcases.
The TikToker said she swore by Olaplex products and regularly applied their hair mask to her locks.
Taryn also plaited her hair before she went to sleep, preventing it from fraying.
For her final tip, she advised her audience to throw in the towel, quite literally, when drying their locks.
“I always dry my hair with a T-shirt instead of a towel because towels break your hair,” she explained.
Her followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.
“Literally [the] exact same as me! I think people sometimes think there’s a ‘quick’ fix to hair, but it really depends, mine took three years,” wrote one viewer.
“Wow! Your hair has grown so much and looks so much more healthy,” said another TikTok user.
