Roadmap for defence cooperation with US signed

A roadmap for Bilateral Defence Cooperation was signed on Monday by the Republic of Cyprus and the United States.

The roadmap was signed at the defence ministry by Minister Vassilis Palmas and US Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander, in the presence of the Chief of Defence Staff, General George Tsitsikostas and US Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher.

“Today’s signing of the roadmap for Bilateral Defence Cooperation between the US and the Cyprus departments of defence is a strong indication of our commitment to further upgrade and deepen our relationship,” Palmas said, while the Wallander spoke of an important milestone in the bilateral defence relationship between the Republic of Cyprus and the US.

“This Roadmap for Bilateral Defence Cooperation advances our common security objectives and confirms the excellent development of our relations, especially over the last two years,” Wallander said.
