The livestream opened with an advertisement showcasing ways customers could integrate the devices into their lives to improve accessibility and productivity.

And it seems filming a music video is among the iPhone 16 Pro’s capabilities.

Singer-songwriter Abel Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, filmed his upcoming music video for “Dancing in the Flames” on the new phone.

Apple took viewers behind the scenes of the video shoot, demonstrating how the device captured crisp, up-close shots of the performer.

Fans quickly took to social media to cheer on the cameo.

The Weeknd making an appearance in the Apple event was such a sweet surprise,” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter,

“Crazy what an iPhone can do!” another raved.

The surprise appearance came ahead of the release of the singer’s much-anticipated new album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”

“Such a smart, awesome partnership for Apple,” one X user raved.

The iPhone 16 rollout was arguably the most-awaited part of Monday’s event.

This included the announcement of several new colors like a bubblegum pink that was previously alluded to in supply chain leaks.

The newest iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature a brighter color palette, with colors like Teal, Pink, and Ultramarine in addition to White and Black.

Options for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are muted by comparison. Those devices will be available in Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and Desert Titanium.

The iPhone 16 Pro models boast a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera and 5x Telephoto camera to capture cinematic shots.

A pressure-sensitive Camera Control button allows users to quickly control their settings by tapping the side of their phone.

The Pro is also equipped with some device-specific artificial intelligence features, dubbed Apple Intelligence.

The AI tools are powered by Apple’s new custom A18 Pro, which has a 16-core neural engine to help with image generation.

Apple claims the latest features run up to 15% faster than A17 Pro on last year’s iPhone 15 Pro.

However, these advanced capabilities carry a hefty price tag. The iPhone 16 Pro will set you back $999, while the Pro Max is priced at $1,199.

Even cost-savvy users will have to shell out $799 or $899 for the iPhone 16 or 16 Plus, respectively.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 will open on September 13. The devices will be available to pick up in-store starting September 20.
