Aston Villa had £13m offer rejected for Spurs-linked starlet – Club insider
Besiktas insider Sinan Engin reveals that the Turkish club sent back a sizeable offer from Aston Villa for alleged Tottenham target Semih Kilicsoy.
Tottenham were linked with Semih Kilicsoy
Kilicsoy has won many admirers since breaking into the Besiktas senior side at the start of the 2023-24 campaign, with the forward ending last season with 11 goals and three assists to his name in 23 league appearances (Transfermarkt).
Leading up to the summer, various outlets suggested that Tottenham were quite keen on the teenager (Turkiye Gazetesi), with some outlets suggesting that the Lilywhites were even readying an offer for the youngster (Aksam).
Spurs also allegedly sent scouts to Germany to watch Kilicsoy in action for Turkey at the European Championship (Sabah via Sport Witness).
However, Ange Postecoglou’s men were not the only club eyeing the forward, with the player also said to have been on the radars of Newcastle, Man United and Aston Villa (HITC).
Aston Villa had an offer turned down for Kilicsoy
Engin has now revealed that Villa did press ahead with a €15m (£12.6m) offer for Kiliscoy, which was turned down by Besiktas.
The former Besiktas midfielder, who now reportedly has a behind-the-scenes role at the club, told YouTube channel Asist Analiz: “Did you know that Aston Villa offered 15 million euros for Semih Kilicsoy? And Besiktas did not accept (the bid).”
Spurs Web Opinion
Kilicsoy is certainly the sort of profile that Tottenham would have looked at closely, given his age and his attributes.
It might not be long before we see the forward in the Premier League as he appears to have the qualities needed to thrive in English football.
