Songwriters Benj Pasek & Justin Paul Achieve EGOT Status With Emmys 2024 Win!

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have completed the EGOT!

On Sunday night (Sept. 8), the songwriters entered the exclusive EGOT club (which is winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) when they won the award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?” from Only Murders in the Building at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Benj and Justin co-wrote the song with Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

“It’s obviously thrilling and very wild to think about,” Justin told reporters after the win, according to People. “Getting to do it alongside two of our musical heroes… is what makes it most meaningful.

Keep reading to find out more…He continued, “And getting to do it with a collaboration that was probably the most joyful we’ve ever had in our careers, on a TV show that is one of our favorite in the history of television shows… it’s just a remarkable thing to get to celebrate.”

The songwriting duo have previously won a Grammy, an Oscar, and 2 Tonys.

Benj and Justin are now 20th and 21st members of the EGOT club joining winners including Viola Davis, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, and Elton John.
