'The best people': Harris goads Trump with ad montage of ex-staffers who now hate him

Vice President Kamala Harris will goad former President Donald Trump on his home turf Tuesday with an ad attack montage of former staffers who now renounce him.

Harris' new campaign ad will air in Palm Beach, Fla. — home to Mar-a-Lago — Philadelphia and nationwide on Fox News hours before the pair's first presidential debate in Pennsylvania, the campaign announced.

“When Trump took office, he said he would hire only ‘the best people,’ and now those very people who know him best refuse to support him," said Harris-Walz campaign spokesperson Quentin Fulks.

"This ad will remind Fox News viewers, perhaps even a certain defeated former president himself, about how Trump’s own national security team can’t stomach him anymore."

The announcement arrives as reports reveal Trump's campaign has become increasingly anxious that Trump will lose his temper, blow the debate and possibly his chances at reclaiming the White House.

The Harris-Trump debate is slated to air on ABC News at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday.

“The Best People” features the voices of Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley.

It is part of a $370 million digital and television advertising package the Harris campaign plans to unroll between Labor and Election days.

A press release announcing the campaign ad rollout includes comments from, among others, former Trump White House Chief of Staff, Homeland Security Secretary, and U.S. Marine Corps General John Kelly.

"[Trump is] a person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators," Kelly says. "A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law."

Trump National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster adds, “President Trump and other officials have repeatedly compromised our principles in pursuit of partisan advantage and personal gain."
