Bulgarian power players secure funding package to save Maritsa Plovdiv
September 9 – The former Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, has said the government will provide nearly BGN 11 million (€5.1 million) for the reconstruction of third division club Maritsa Plovdiv’s stadium.
Maritsa Plovdiv is currently in a financial crisis and only a month ago had to turn to its fans for financial support in order to keep playing.
