Liam Gallagher looks downcast as he’s seen for the first time since Oasis backlash over soaring ticket prices

LIAM Gallagher has been seen looking downcast as the star was pictured for the first time since Oasis announced their reunion.

The 51-year-old music icon battled the British weather in a long black rain coat with the hood up, as he strolled in the countryside in the southwest of England, while talking his dog for a walk.

Liam had a stern look on his face as he strolled along with a khaki cap on as he walked his dog, named Buttons, who he adopted from a Thailand sanctuary.

The star, who regularly shares photos with his dog on social media, partnered his rain jacket with black trousers and trainers, and was seen walking down a gravel pathway towards the road.

Liam’s jaunt with Buttons the dog comes a few days after he told Oasis fans to ‘shut up’ in a shock rant after returning to social media after the ticket scandal.

He posted on X, formerly Twitter, this morning and wrote: ‘OASIS are back you’re welcome and I hear their ATTITUDE STINKS good to know something’s never change.”

Then, when a string of comments from fans replied to his post by criticising the ticketing approach, Liam replied with two words: “Shut up.”

He was then asked how he was feeling about the big Oasis reunion, and he told fans he was feeling “smug”.

Liam responded: “SMUG only kidding SMUG AS F*** I told you all we were gonna get back together 1 fine day.”

The musician announced last week that he and his brother Noel Gallagher would come back for a reunion tour in 2025, and on Saturday August 31 the series of UK and Ireland shows sold out in less than a day.

Fans were beset with problems getting onto ticket websites, from being labelled bots and being kicked out of queuing to some ending up paying more than the advertised price of £148 as costs surged past £355.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on Thursday launched an investigation into Ticketmaster, including how so-called ‘dynamic pricing’ may have been used.

When asked if he would do a free concert, he replied: “Don’t be silly”.

Another referenced his mother, Peggy, saying how she might feel about the ticket fiasco, and Liam responded by saying: “She’s gutted she couldn’t get a ticket.”

Liam also appeared to joke, that he had “loads” of tickets left, but could only sell them for £100,000 and they would be “kneeling only”.

The CMA will also scrutinise whether the sale of Oasis tickets by Ticketmaster may have breached consumer protection law.

Oasis drummer vacancy is a two horse race

By Ellie Henman, Bizarre Editor

THE reconciliation of music powerhouses Noel and Liam Gallagher was something us fans dreamed of, but never really thought would happen.

So, when little over ten weeks ago, solid sources started calling our team with the news myself and all previous Bizarre editors had dreamt of…I couldn’t believe my luck.

And now with 19 huge stadium dates looming, Noel and Liam have started preparing to get the band back together again.

Bonehead, a founding member of the original Oasis line-up was a no-brainer, as were Gem Archer and Andy Bell – who went on to form Beady Eye with Liam following Oasis’ bitter split back in 2009.

And while I understand the group will also be supported by musicians from Noel’s exceptional High Flying Birds band, the only question mark now remains over who will come on as the drummer.

People close to the band told me original drummer Tony McCarroll and Alan White – who then picked up the sticks – are both out of the frame.

Leaving, in my eyes, a two horse race between Chris Shamrock and Zak Starkey.

Chris, like Gem, plays with Noel’s HFB and is, undoubtedly, brilliant at his craft.

But Zak, the son of Beatles legend Ringo, is who many of the fans, myself included, are backing to be brought into the fold.

Zak, who took over when Alan quit, is, in my opinion, the best drummer Oasis ever had and is the most accomplished.

He currently drums with The Who and last year teamed up with Andy again as part of Shaun Ryder and Bez’s Mantra Of The Cosmos supergroup.

One of his first live performances with Oasis was on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in 2004 – with his heavy, rhythmic drumming providing the perfect sound for that kind of crowd.

Put that man behind the kit in the stadiums next summer and it’ll be electric.

But the decision lies in the hands of Noel and Liam.

And given they’ve yet to strike a deal, that I know of, I can imagine the choice is not an easy one.

Ticketmaster maintains it does not set concert prices and its website states this is down to the “event organiser” who “has priced these tickets according to their market value”.

A spokesman for the ticket sales company said: “We are committed to cooperating with the CMA and look forward to sharing more facts about the ticket sale with them.”

Oasis said in a statement: “It needs to be made clear that Oasis leaves decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used.

“While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.

“All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.”

Following the chaos over the weekend, Oasis announced new Wembley Stadium dates on the 27 and 28 September 2025 using a lottery system.
