It’s Sunday, and if it’s Sunday, it’s Meet the Links.

In Mariners news...

  • Sick.

Around the league...

  • Gunnar Henderson has to be sent to the Gulag for that pimp job on an F8.
  • White Sox remaining schedule is one at Boston, 3 vs. Cleveland, 3 vs. Oakland, 3 in Anaheim, 3 in San Diego, 3 vs. Anaheim, and 3 in Detroit. If I’m a betting man, which I’m not, I think 2024 White Sox worst team of all-time is a lock.
  • He was always meant to be a Padre, we just didn’t know it.
  • Lots of injury news yesterday. Lets start with the Mets, who are in a dog fight for a wild card spot, and unfortunately Jeff McNeil won’t be able to help them get there. While squaring up to bunt on Friday, McNeil was hit by a pitch that fractured his right wrist. If the Mets can make the playoffs, McNeil might be able to rejoin them in October.
  • On the flip side of the Mets playoff push, the Braves injury woes continue with Whit Merrifield going to the IL with a fracture in his left foot. However Merrifield could be expected to return as early as next weekend.
  • Yesterday’s news: Red Sox activated Trevor Story from the 60-day IL.

Future news: Trevor Story goes back to IL, not expected to return this season.

  • The Los Angeles Dodgers were originally expected to place Mariners legend Teoscar Hernández on the 10-day IL after a pitch to the ankle forced him to leave Friday’s game, but it appears he avoided any significant damage.
  • The The Angels Angels of Anaheim placed outfielders Kevin Pillar (thumb sprain) and Jo Adell (oblique strain) on the 10-day IL, and transferred José Soriano to the 60-day IL.
  • The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have shut down closer Jordan Romano following surgery on his throwing elbow back in July.
