California state senator sued by former chief of staff for alleged sexual harassment, retaliation

California state Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil (R-Jackson) was sued Thursday by her former chief of staff for alleged sexual harassment and retaliation for rejecting her unwanted sexual advances. Through her attorney, Alvarado-Gil has denied the claims.
