Depowering downwind in strong winds

I'm a new Sunfish sailor and need some advice. I've sailed my boat about 12 times on our local lake and usually the winds are no more than about 6 knots. I usually launch at the marina and sail upwind until half my time is up, then turn and sail downwind back to the marina. I've been able to handle this fine in light winds.
