Michael O'Brien's Super 25 high school football rankings for Week 3

With two weeks of football in the books, there are some notable results to build the Super 25 around, but even more is still unknown. The top of the rankings remained stable, but it was a tumultuous Week 2 overall.

Hersey, Carmel, Glenbard West and St. Ignatius drop out of the Super 25 this week. Joliet Catholic and Wheaton-Warrenville South nearly did as well, but both will get one more chance to prove themselves.

The Corsairs lost to Lake Forest. St. Ignatius was beaten by Fenwick. Hersey and Glenbard West are 0-2 against high-quality opponents but fall out for now.

Oswego and Wheaton North were obvious additions this week. The Panthers were overlooked in the preseason rankings. Shutting out Joliet Catholic and beating Neuqua Valley is an excellent start to the season.

Wheaton North was an unknown this season but has proven itself early with wins against Providence and Lockport.

The Friars join after knocking off St. Ignatius and Prairie Ridge, with its impressive program history and 2-0 start, is the fourth new team.

A large group of teams is knocking on the door: Geneva, Homewood-Flossmoor, Lake Forest, Minooka, Libertyville, St. Francis, Montini, Lincoln-Way West and St. Laurence.
