[HOMESTRETCH] UP Forever: The people behind the UP Fighting Maroons
MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines is hosting the 87th season of the UAAP. The University will be pulling out all the stops – from the opening ceremony to the other events for the season.
In this third episode of HOMESTRETCH, anchor Pató Gregorio talks to Josie Querimit and Rod Januario — two of the staff working behind the UP Fighting Maroons. Querimit has been with the UP College of Human Kinetics since 1976 as administrative staff. Januario was with the college since the 1970s — he has since retired, but is still well-loved by the community.
This episode also features the UP Men’s Basketball Team when they competed in Keelung, Taiwan for the 2024 Interleague Play — in preparation for the new basketball season in the UAAP. Gregorio talks to the team members, as well as UP Office of Athletics and Sports Development Director Bo Perasol.
HOMESTRETCH aims to tell the stories of people that inspire us with their struggles and triumphs, and the places that help define our spirit as a nation.
Co-presented by Rappler and Duckworld, HOMESTRETCH is hosted by sportsman and tourism advocate Pató Gregorio.
