Match Preview: Glasgow City v Queen’s Park – 8 Sept 24

0

Queen's Park travel to K Park, East Kilbride, tomorrow to face Glasgow City in ScottishPower WPL 1 action. Kick off at 1:00pm.

Glasgow City will return to hosting duties after two games on the road in which they won 2-0 against both Partick Thistle and The Spartans.

City come into this game having won four games out of five; losing to Celtic 1-0 at Excelsior Stadium. With fellow title challengers Celtic and Rangers out of action, Glasgow City know that a win would take them back to joint top of the table.

Meanwhile, Queen’s Park will be looking to bounce back from their 3-0 home defeat against Montrose, but begin a difficult period of fixtures, starting with two games away from home – the second against Hibernian next Sunday.

The Spiders sit in 7th Place having picked up six points from five matches and two places and six points separate them from their 5th place hosts.

Craig Joyce knows his side are in for a tough test: “Glasgow City are a top team, and it will be a really challenging game for us. We will have to be at our best all over the pitch to make it as hard as possible for City.

That said, the girls are all looking forward to playing against another tough side. We’ve had a good week in training and spirit are high so we go into the game in a good place. It should be a great game of football and what will be, will be”.
