13 children, 4 adults visiting western Michigan park stung by ground-nesting bees

Thirteen young children and four adults have been stung by ground-nesting bees at a western Michigan park. WZZM-TV reports that the group of 3-year-olds from a nearby child development center were visiting Rogue River Park in Plainfield Township early Friday afternoon when the nest was disturbed. The daycare center says some bees made it inside the children’s clothing, and a few of the children were stung more than once. The children were moved away from the bees and onto a bus. Plainfield Township Fire Chief Kyle Svoboda says none of the children were seriously hurt. Plainfield Township is just north of Grand Rapids.
