DfT accounts lay bare the cost of government U-turns and losses

Transportxtra - The Department for Transport?s accounts for 2023/24 lay bare the high cost of governmental inconsistency, with losses declared in relation to changes to HS2, smart motorways and the department?s shared services programme. Departmental Group losses during the year were almost ?2.4bn, compared with ?90.6m in 2022/23.
