I’m a mum of three and begging strangers online to help pay my rent before I become homeless
A MUM who has found herself in financial difficulty has taken to begging strangers online to pay her rent.
Nina Elizabeth took to social media, petrified that if she didn’t make rent this month she would end up homeless along with her children.
Mum-of-three Nina was terrified she’d be homeless[/caption]The mum said: “There’s a big chance me and my kids are gonna be homeless within a week.
“This is my last resort so please watch this video through.”
Nina explained she had been in the house for over a year, but was a single parent after her ex left her and their newborn.
The mum had no money come through in a few weeks and had bills and rent due leaving her rightfully stressed out.
The devastated mum continued: “I’ve never had an eviction, I’ve never had a loan I’ve never had been in a situation where this is happening.
“I typically always try to find a way to make it.”
“Please guys, I know its a big ask. I have no other choice,” Nina pleaded.
“Might be making a couple more videos and then I’ll be on live as well to try and make the amount I need. I know with your help we can get through this. So please, for them. Help me.”
This time she asked people to donate to her GoFundMe page, send money to her CashApp or interact with the video to earn money from TikTok.
TikTok bosses say: “The funds that each creator can earn are worked out by a combination of factors – including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement on the content, as well as making sure content is in line with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different kinds of content we will support with the fund.
“The Creator Fund total varies daily and is dependent on the amount of videos published by our community that day – so this will fluctuate based on the amount of content being published.”
But it’s not the first time the mum has had strangers online help her.
She revealed a previous partner had taken her furniture and TikTok viewers helped her rebuild her home.
Emergency Council Accomidation
In England, emergency council accommodation is provided to individuals or families who find themselves homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. The process typically involves several steps, and the specifics can vary depending on the local council. However, the general process is as follows:
- If you are homeless or at risk of homelessness, you should contact your local council’s housing department as soon as possible. Most councils have dedicated housing options or homelessness prevention teams., The council will conduct an initial assessment to determine your situation. This usually involves an interview where you will need to provide information about your circumstances, including why you are homeless, your housing history, and any specific needs you may have.
- The council will check if you are eligible for assistance. This includes verifying your immigration status and whether you have a local connection to the area, e.g., living, working, or having family in the area.
- The council will determine if you have a ‘priority need’ for housing. Priority need categories typically include:, Families with dependent children., Pregnant women., Individuals who are vulnerable due to age, physical or mental health conditions, or other special reasons., People made homeless by emergencies such as fire or flood.
- If you are deemed to have a priority need, the council must provide you with temporary accommodation while they investigate your case further. This is often referred to as interim or emergency accommodation. This could be in a hostel, bed and breakfast, or other types of temporary housing.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @ninaelizabethhh went viral with over 1 million views and over 226k likes.
