Love Island star Ellie Jackson sparks feud with ex co-star as she hits back at him for saying she was in a ‘bad place’
LOVE Island star Ellie Jackson has hit back at ex Trey Norman – saying she was “not in a bad place” after their split.
The pair got together after Welsh beauty Ellie, 23, entered the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell.
Days after they returned to the UK, Ellie revealed they were planning to go on a date.
But shortly after The Sun exclusively revealed pictures of Trey on a date with AJ Pritchard’s ex Abbie Quinnen.
Ellie has since hit back at Trey for chasing fame in the wrong way in a bid to stay relevant.
She exclusively told The Sun: “Trey wasn’t my typical type, which is a shame.
“In the villa he was quite nice and welcoming to me. There were a couple of red flags in the villa but I think you just kind of ignore them and think everyone’s emotions are heightened and to cut them a bit of slack.
“When I came out I very quickly realised this is the reason I have a type and he isn’t my type.
“We’ve just got different career paths, I think he’s chasing the stars in a different way than I’m chasing the stars.
“I’m chasing the stars in a more practical way and I think he’s chasing it in a way where he’s going on set-up dates to try and get publicity.
“I think I’m just a little bit more career driven and we’ve gone our separate ways and we haven’t really spoken to be honest since we’ve parted.
“I know he’s spoken about me being in a bad place, and that’s why I’ve said the things I’ve said.
“But I’m actually in a really good place.
“Let him say what he wants to say at the end of the day, I know what I’m doing, I’m a smart girl.
“It’s all done and dusted, we’re just civil but we don’t talk.”
In July, Ellie confirmed the split and said they weren’t compatible.
She said: “I knew it wasn’t working. I mean, for one when we came out, the distance just was not ideal.
“I knew that we wouldn’t sort of have enough time to see each other.
“And I think when we did, there just was a couple of red flags in the sense of like all the other couples, that very happily when we were out for dinner or at nightclubs.
And Trey just kind of wouldn’t sit next to me, or, you know, would be, you know, giving other girls a little bit of attention in the nightclubs as well.
“And I know it with my past relationships. Being cheated on like that just wasn’t something that I kind of wanted to get involved in again.
“And, you know, especially being in public eye, like it can be quite embarrassing having other girls come up to you and tell you that you know, your partner has said X, Y, Z.
“I kind of just knew in the back of my head that, it wasn’t something that I was too keen on.
“I do think that there may be a there may have been a little bit of a vendetta behind the relationship in terms of, I think Trey mentioned he wants to go on All Stars and, kind of like keeping us in the limelight and stuff.
“But for me, I’m such a genuine person.
“I find it hard to fake a relationship and fake liking someone just for the sake of publicity and and stuff like that.
“If I want to find someone, I want it to be because I actually have a good connection with them and we get on.”
Just yesterday Ellie landed a huge modelling contract as she ditches her corporate job time become a full-time model.
Last month, The Sun also revealed that Trey and Abbie had split.
