The Chase airs record-breaking prize win in historic episode
The Chase set a new record this week, as two players won the biggest-ever jackpot in the ITV show's history.
During Thursday's (September 5) episode of the game show, contestants Ian and Karen successfully made it through to the final Chase against chaser Paul Sinha, aka The Sinnerman.
Ian secured a respectable £6,000 for the prize pot, while Karen picked the higher offer of £94,000 – bringing the pot to a record-breaking total of £100,000.
The chaser had just 16 questions to beat in the final chase, meaning Ian and Karen would need some pushbacks to win the money.

While the pair were able to push Paul back twice, it looked like they were going be defeated as host Bradley Walsh asked Paul the final question with eight seconds left on the clock.
"Lesley Manville played the widow Cathy in what BBC sitcom?" the presenter asked, to which a flustered Paul replied: "Last of the Summer Wine".
However, the answer was wrong – Lesley plays Cathy in Mum – and the clock was stopped with just one second to go.
Although Ian and Karen failed to provide the right answer, it was too late for Paul to answer another question.
Paul congratulated the "brilliant" team, saying they "absolutely deserved every penny" of their prize.

He admitted he'd drawn a blank on who Lesley Manville was at the crucial question, joking that his "wrong interruption" had "cost ITV £100,000 – but you don't have to care about a second of that!"
After celebrating their historic win, Bradley asked the two players what they were going to do with the money, saying he was "thrilled" for them both.
Ian said he would buy "a very nice car" with his £50,000 share of the prize, while Karen said: "Abu Dhabi, here we come. Grand Prix – on the grid!"
It's been an exciting week for The Chase, as the show also celebrated its 15th anniversary with a special episode on Monday (September 2).
"The Chase is still the most-watched programme in daytime reaching over 9.2 million viewers every week and having been streamed more than 23 million times in Q1 of this year alone," said ITV's head of entertainment commissioning Katie Rawcliffe ahead of the episode airing.
"So, we're very excited and proud to be celebrating 15 impressive years of the show later this year on ITV1 and ITVX."
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
