Olympian Jordan Chiles hit up the 2024 US Open yesterday in Queens, New York. The athlete took in the 11th day of matches with a seemingly collegiate-inspired look and a pair of white Nike sneakers. Chile attended the event wearing an oversized burgundy cardigan featuring Nike patches.

The piece features a large swoop intertwined with N for Nike on the body in addition to a Niki logo on the arm. It evokes the vibe of a varsity letter cardigan that some colleges sell. Chiles paired it with a string of large pearls, diamond earrings, as well as sharp black shades. For a bottom she wore a pleated miniskirt.

Jordan Chiles attends day eleven of the 2024 US Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center on September 5 in New York City.

For shoes, she stuck with Nike. In particular, she wore the brand’s Shox R4 sneaker. The style is white and features metallic detailing up the sides. The upper includes mesh making the style quite light as well as breathable. In addition, the Shox R4  includes spring-like pillars, and was the first style to do so when it was released in 2000. These have a functional aspect of helping to absorb impact.

Net-a-Porter is currently selling the Nike Shox R4 in white for $150.

The gymnast is often seen in Nike head to toe but can switch it up adding in Prada, Louis Vuitton, American Eagle and Aritzia into the mix. “My shoes are always my final products” of the look she told WWD in May. “I still typically wear Nike for that sort of thing.” Though many female celebrities have been wearing glamorous heels for the US Open, Chiles is certainly not the first athlete to wear sneakers this year.
Serena Williams notably wore a pair of Gucci sneakers with the brand’s signature GG Supreme print and neon highlights.
