Warm, scattered storms, breezy and much cooler weekend
High pressure over the Appalachians will draw southerly winds and increasing humidity into Ohio, under partly sunny skies, as temperatures will rise into the upper 80s.
Low pressure will track across the northern Great Lakes, swinging a cold front through Ohio this evening. Several bands of showers and storms will develop through the afternoon and evening, with the risk of gusty winds and brief heavy rain in stronger storms. A few lightning delays are possible during high school football games, mainly southeast of I-71.
The rain will move east of the state by midnight, with noticeable cooling overnight, as winds shift to the northwest. Skies will start off on the cloudy side Saturday, along with a chilly northerly breeze. Clearing will develop by midday, leaving us with a fall sky and temperatures in the crisp 60s, which will make it really feel like autumn.
The weather for the Buckeyes game Saturday evening in the Horseshoe will be rather cool, requiring a light jacket of sweatshirt, as temperatures fall from the low 60s to the low 50s during the game.
High pressure will build down from Canada later in the weekend and linger into next week. Sunday will be crisp and sunny, with afternoon temperatures around 70 degrees, folowed by another cool night down in the low to mid-40s.
A gradual warm-up will bring seasonable weather early next week.
